The Mac calendaring app Fantastical 2 ($39.99) is fast, highly customizable, and responsive. It pulls in calendar appointments from other sources, such as iCloud and Google, and keeps them all tidy. Fantastical 2 did have a bit of a rough start on launch day due to a bug that made it crash (this has since been fixed), the app still jumped to the top rated apps. This is additional proof of how popular this productivity app really is. Fantastical 2 for Mac is currently $39.99 and is available in the Mac App Store. This feature is not available right now. Fantastical 2 for Mac is the calendar app you won’t be able to live without.
When it comes to software, I try to stick with the default, Mac apps because I enjoy the experience of everything working together. Best equalizer for mac. That being said, there are a few exceptions to that rule and Fantastical 2 is one of them.
Fantastical developer Flexibits has reinvented their award-winning OS X calendar app. It is exclusively designed for OS X Yosemite with some brand new features including a full screen view. In my opinion, it’s definitely an Apple Calendar app replacement.

Some of the new features of Fantastical 2 include:
One of the things I really like about Fantastical 2 is that it works not only with your Apple Calendar appointments, but it will also work with other calendar services with native CalDAV support like iCloud, Google and Yahoo. It will automatically add alarms to new event – something that I really appreciate as I have a lot of appointments and meetings throughout the day that I need to be on time for.
Fantastical 2 is fully localized in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese. That means you can start typing an event or reminder in any of those languages and the app will automatically understand. Along with this, Fantastical understands when you type in real phrases. For example, you can type in “Lunch with Jane Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.” and the app will translate to a calendar event. It’s a feature that I am getting a lot of use out of.

Another feature I really like is that Fantastical grabs information from the Apple Calendar app, too. So, if you use Siri, like I do, to enter events and meetings, Fantastical 2 will pull that information so that you don’t miss anything. This was a must have feature for me because I use Siri to input most of my appointments.
Flexibits had the foresight to include a widget for the Today View in the Notification Center. With the Today Widget, you can have very convenient access to your schedule. In addition to being able to view your schedule through the widget, you also have a handy Mini Window that has been revamped for this new release. White pages app for mac. The Mini Window resides in your menu bar and lets you create, edit and view events instantly. Now, you can also drag the Mini Window away from the menu bar and position it anywhere on your desktop.
There are so many great new features with Fantastical 2 that I could spend all day discussing them. To sum it all up, this app is a great addition to my collection and it will be for yours, too.
Flexibits has a 14-day free trial available through their website if you are interested to test it out before purchasing. Fantastical 2 is also available on iPhone and iPad as separate purchases.
